Stockpile detection

Pythagoras automatically detects stockpiles in a point cloud. It will calculate and draw a polyline around a stockpile. This 3D-polyline can later be used to create a polygon for further use such as volume calculation in a point cloud or for the creation of a terrain model.

STEPS

  • Create a new layer 'Stockpile contours' and set as active layer.
  • Go to menu Point Clouds.
  • Select Breaklines & Stockpiles.

  • In the window Breakline & Stockpile Detection select the point cloud and choose the line type: Stockpile contours. If needed you can add a minimum length and choose for a smooth polyline.

  • Click on the button 'OK'.
  • Confirmation message: A polyline is created within your drawing. Click on OK.
