When you rightclick on an object, you now have the possibility to isolate this object and all other objects that are drawn in the same layer. Simply choose 'Layer - "layer name"' and you'll see that the other objects will be grayed out.

This allows you to focus more on the specific lines of the chosen layer, without losing information or without losing the capability to select other objects or snap to them.
You can end this feature by selecting any object, rightclicking and choosing "Layers - End layer isolation"
