How to back up system files

Backup system files

It is never a bad idea to have a backup of your user settings. You plan to re-install Windows, or you just want to be save and have a backup of all system files?


In Pythagoras:

  • Go to menu File > Configure... .
  • Click on the button 'Advanced'. 
  • Click on the button 'Backup'.
  • Select the appropriate folder to store the backup files (This will backup the macro library, the symbol library, the users defaults and the general settings.)


GEOCODING MODULE [DC2]

When using the Geocoding module, you also have to backup your CDF-file. This has to be done manually. The path of your current CDF file can be found in the menu Settings > Preferences: Data collector. Beneath Code description.


Now you can restore your system files after a new installation of Windows or on a new computer:
