How to add vertices or breaklines to a terrain model

Edit Terrain Model

Editing your terrain model is a lot easier since Pythagoras 2023 with the new ‘Edit Terrain Model’ tool. Simply draw additional geometry using the existing  tools in Pythagoras and make them interact with your DTM by adding vertices or breaklines. Adding points will generate vertices and adding lines will generate breaklines.

By selecting one or multiple polygons you can now use the ‘Edit Terrain Model’-function Cut off inside or outside polygons to include or exclude a certain part of a DTM. This can be particularly useful for your volume calculations.

Please be aware that these steps will become irreversible when you have confirmed the action.

You can not only add drawn objects to a DTM. It’s also possible to insert one DTM into another existing DTM. The overlapping part will be changed and will be fully integrated resulting in a new triangulation.
