How to detach your license
This article helps you understand how to detach a license from your network or cloud server so you can use Pythagoras offline. Whether you're traveling or working in an area with limited internet access, detaching a license ensures you can continue using Pythagoras without interruptions.
Steps to detach your license for offline use
Create a temporary license for offline use
- In your browser open your local Admin Control Center - localhost:1947.
- Click on the Products tab.
- In the Actions column, click the Detach button next to your product.
Set the expiration date
This opens the Checkout page which gives you an overview. You can set the expiration date within a maximum of 14 days for which license can be detached.
- Choose the Online detach method.
- Specify the end date within the 14-day limit.
- Click the Detach & Attach button.
Confirm license detachment
You will see a confirmation message: 'License detached successfully'. An extra license for offline use has been created.
Click on the Sentinel Keys tab.
In the Sentinel Keys overview you see:
(A) your normal license which you can still use when online. This license is managed on a remote machine (name/IP-address)
(B) a temporary license for offline use which is stored on you device (local)
Select the license
The next time you start Pythagoras, you will be prompted to choose which license to use. Select the license you want to use and click the Connect button.
Cancelling the detached license
If you no longer need the detached license, you can either wait for it to cancel automatically after the set date or cancel it manually.
Steps for manual cancellation
- Open your browser and go to your local Admin Control Center - localhost:1947.
- Click on the Products tab.
- In the Actions column, click the Cancel License button next to your product.
- In the overview, click the Cancel License button again.
- You will receive a confirmation that the license was cancelled.
