Cross section: Records-tab |
Customize the layout of profiles and cross sections
When generating a profile (length or cross section), Pythagoras allows you to fully customize the appearance — from line styles to text formatting. This is useful for:
- Creating clear reports for clients
- Matching your company or project standards
- Highlighting specific records (terrain, utilities, design)
These layout settings can be saved and reused in future projects.
Overview of the customisable parameters: Graph lines, Foot lines, Row height, Title and Dimension texts.
STEPS to customize your profile layout
1. Create your profile as usual
- Make your selection the section line (line, path, polyline( + reference objects, if applicable.
- Go to the command Length Profile or Cross sections.
2. Open the Records tab
- In the window Cross Section, click on the tab Records (1). Each row here represents a record to be shown.
- Click on the button Attributes (2) in the column Dimensions to open the Style settings.
3. Adjust the Style settings
In the Style window
- Adjust line styles for the Graph line and Foot line: Lines data
In the Style window, line types can be adjusted for both Graph and Foot lines. In the Lines Data window you can choose from default and library line styles. They are available in every color and width.
- Modify text settings for title and dimension annotations: Text attributes
For each record row, you can adjust: Text attributes can be changed for both the title and dimension texts per record row of the cross section.
- Click on the Save (3) button to store these parameters as the new defaults. Confirm by clicking on the OK button.
Save Time with Defaults: Clicking Save ensures your layout preferences are used in future sessions — no need to reconfigure styles every time you create a section.
- Click on the OK (4) button to generate the section drawing.
TIPS
Use consistent colors across terrain, design lines, and utilities for clarity.
If you're using Referenced records, styling will automatically follow the drawing attributes — no need to configure manually.
Combine this with a prototype drawing for smart sheet placement.
