Dynamic profiles
With Pythagoras CAD 2025, you can now create Dynamic Profiles — cross-sections that automatically update whenever you modify the reference line in your drawing. This makes managing and visualizing your profiles faster, smarter, and more intuitive than ever.
STEPS
Create a profile
1. Select the polyline or path you want to use.
2. Open the DTM menu and choose Length Profile.
3. In the Cross Section window, go to the Layout tab.
4. To create a dynamic profile, select New Sheet.
5. Then choose the sheet where the profile should be generated.
If you’re working with prototypes, check the Prototype Drawing box.
6. Click OK.
A profile is generated in the Page CS according to your settings.
Page layout adjustments
Open Page Setup to align your profile with the page.
Press Center to position it automatically… and adjust manually if needed.
Adjusting the reference line
Return to the Local CS coordinate system.
Move or adjust the polyline or path you used to create the profile…
and watch as the generated profile updates automatically with every change.
Modifying the records or properties
You can also add more information to an existing profile.
Right-click the section and choose Profile > Properties from the submenu.
In the Cross Section window, open the Records tab and add a record.
Select which properties should appear in the section, then click OK to include them in the profile.
Why this matters:
- Dynamic Profiles keep your cross-sections perfectly in sync with your design.
- They reduce manual work and eliminate errors when updating drawings.
- You can easily expand your profiles with additional data for more detailed analysis.
- It’s a faster, more flexible, and fully dynamic approach to profile creation.
