In the "Preferences" dialog the user always had the option to choose what attributes are copied and pasted.

The attributes that can be selected are:

  • Color
  • Layer
  • Comment
  • Display level
  • Point Number
  • Line Arrows
  • Pattern orientation
  • Text orientation
  • Annotation content

Pythagoras 2021 adds the option to choose whether the copied or pasted attributes only affects the same type of objects or affects all objects that have these attributes.

Example 1 - Default attributes:

Setting the preference to "General" means that when the default attributes of a red line are copied, the default color attribute of all objects will change to red.

Setting the preference to "Object" means that when the default attributes of a red line are copied, only the default color attribute of object type line will change to red.

Example 2 - Attributes:

Setting the preference to "General" means that when the attributes of a red line are copied and pasted to a group of different objects types (points, lines, polygons), the color attribute of all objects will change to red.

Setting the preference to "Object" means that when the attributes of a red line are copied and pasted to a group of different objects types (points, lines, polygons), only the default color attribute of object type line will change to red.
