Color Maps Manager
The color maps manager allows you to create, store and manage color maps. These templates can be used for coloring both terrain models and point clouds. This manager can be found in the "Settings" menu.
When setting up a new template it will be stored in the templates library. All the templates are stored in the .DEF file. When a template is used to color a terrain model or point cloud it will create a color map based on the values in the drawing. This way you can share your templates with others.
Sharing templates is also possible via the export and import function in the main "Color Maps manager" menu.
A template used in a Pythagoras drawing, which is not yet stored in the users system settings, can be moved from the document to the template library. This method is similar to what can be done with new symbols and line styles.
The different templates can be named, renamed, edited and linked to one or more DTM's or point clouds over several drawings.
How to Create a Color Map Template
- Go to the Settings menu and select Color Maps Manager.
- Click on the button New to start setting up your Color Map.
- Choose a type. For terrain models you can choose from Elevation and Slope. For point clouds you can choose Elevation, Intensity, Classification or Difference.
- Choose if you want to use the option Range Undefined.
A predefined range contains a range of colors representing a range of heights, slopes or height differences that is absolute.
For example: A DTM color scheme with 5 color steps for blue to red representing values from 0 meters to 5 meters. Only the height values of the DTM from 0 to 5 meters will be colorized. Other heights in the DTM will not.
An undefined range contains a range of colors representing a range of heights, slopes or height differences relative to the height of the project.
For example: A DTM color scheme with 5 color steps for blue to red representing values from the lowest to the highest height. The complete DTM will be colored in this case, no matter what the height values are.
- Click on the button OK.
- Choose a color scheme and define the data ranges for each color. Click OK.
- Click on the button OK to store the template.
The template will be stored in the templates library and saved in a .DEF file.
