How to create a Cut and Fill map (basic)
For a quick visualisation of the Cut and Fill areas you can use the command 'Area cut and fill' which is part of the Bonus tools macro.
Not familiar with macros, read Install a Macro.
In the Active Settings change the active macro to Bonus tools
In the menu Bonus tools > DTM > Area cut and fill
Choose which option you want to use.
- the difference of a terrain model and a certain height
- the difference between two terrain models
Colour: choose the colours you want to use that will represent Cut/Fill
Click on 'OK'.
The area of the cut and fill is calculated.
Click on 'OK'
Result
In your drawing a new layer Cut&Fill has been created, which you can choose to show or not show. This layer contains a group of point objects colorised accordingly. Each Point info contains the coördinates and the height.
