For a quick visualisation of the Cut and Fill areas you can use the command Area cut and fill which is part of the Bonus tools macro.

Make sure the Bonus Tools macro is installed:  How to install macro: Bonus tools

Verify that Bonus Tools is set as the active macro.

STEPS

In the Active Settings change the active macro to Bonus tools

In the menu Bonus tools > DTM > Area cut and fill

In the window Select DTM:

  • Choose which option you want to use.
    - the difference of a terrain model and a certain height
    - the difference between two terrain models

  • Colour: choose the colours you want to use that will represent Cut/Fill

  • Click on OK.

The area of the cut and fill is calculated.

Click on OK.

RESULT

In your drawing a new layer Cut&Fill has been created, which you can choose to show or not show. This layer contains a group of point objects colorised accordingly. Each Point info contains the coördinates and the height.
