BIM integration for DTM

The demand for BIM integration continues to grow, and we are addressing this need by enabling visible Digital Terrain Models (DTM) to be exported in the IFC format.

For this, we utilize the latest sub-format, IFC 4.3, which is specifically designed for infrastructure and road design. This new extension of the IFC format facilitates a more seamless exchange of data between different software applications in the construction and infrastructure industries.

What is IFC 4.3 and Why is it Important?

IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is an open standard for exchanging BIM data between different software solutions. IFC 4.3 is a major update that significantly enhances support for:

  • Civil engineering (roads, bridges, tunnels)
  • Terrain models and geotechnical data
  • Rail and water infrastructure

By exporting DTM models in IFC 4.3, users can accurately transfer their data to BIM platforms, improving collaboration between designers, engineers, and contractors.
