The license used for this session is no longer available

Error message: 'The license used for this session is no longer available'

This error appears when Pythagoras loses the connection to the license source while running. It can occur with Cloud or Network (SL) licenses, where an active connection must be maintained during the session.

Possible causes

  • Your internet connection was interrupted (for Cloud licenses)

  • The connection to the license server was temporarily lost (for Network licenses)

  • The user was deactivated or signed out in the Cloud Portal

  • The detach period expired (for offline use)

  • The seat was taken by another user

Solution

1. Close Pythagoras completely

  • Exit the program as usual.

  • Check via Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) if any related processes are still running, and close them if necessary.

2. Check your license connection

  • Cloud license: verify your internet connection is stable.

  • Network license: check that you are still connected to the server.

  • Open your browser and go to http://localhost:1947 to see if your license key is visible.

3. Restart your computer

Sometimes the error remains cached in memory. A restart can resolve this.

4. Restart Pythagoras

The license will be rechecked and reattached when the program starts.

Still seeing the error?

  • Cloud users: log in again using the access link from the activation email.

  • Detach users: check whether the offline period (detach) has expired (maximum 14 days).

  • Network users: wait a few moments or check if another user is currently occupying the seat.
