Default Styles in Pythagoras

Pythagoras contains a fixed set of default styles for points, lines, and polygons. These styles (point style, line style and pattern) are intended for general use and ensure consistent, scale-independent display in your drawings.

Properties of Default Styles

  • Not editable
Default styles cannot be modified or overwritten. They are built into the software and cannot be exported or replaced via Symbol Manager.

  • Scale-independent
The display size of default styles always remains the same, regardless of the set scale (e.g. 1/100 or 1/500) or the scale factor (%).

  • Fixed design
The shape and structure of the style are fixed. In some cases, you can still change the color or thickness of the object using the style, but the style itself will remain unchanged.

When to use default styles?

Use default styles when you:

  • Work with drawings where consistent display is important

  • Don’t need custom formatting

  • Want to start quickly without creating your own styles

Want more control?

If you want full control over symbols or line styles — in terms of shape, color, rotation, or scale — use custom styles via the library.
